TETRA Region 3 Pole Canyon Ranch Ride

Quitaque Texas

October 18 - 20, 2024

Join us at Pole Canyon Ranch in Quitaque, Texas.  Rich in Texas history, you won't be disappointed. Located eight miles south of Quitaque, home of Caprock Canyon State Park, and the Caprock Canyon Trailway.  It is located along the Caprock Canyon Trailway, Monks Crossing with easy access to the famous Clarity tunnel.

Pole Canyon Ranch, managed by Phil and Lynette Barefield, is accessible yet remote from the busy outside world. Established in 1911 by Lynnette's grandfather, Jim Taylor, and his brother, who rode their horses into this area in December of 1910 in search of land.

The ranch is now part of the Walter Taylor Estate and encompasses about 6,000 acres of beautiful canyon lands with running water in several of the spring-fed creeks. Abundant game and beautiful scenery make each excursion a memorable adventure.

The ranch has electric and water hookups with reservations made through Pole Canyon ranch website.  They offer a bath house with shower and toilets.  A fully furnished ranch house is available for rent, with reservations made through Pole Canyon website.
