This was Penny’s and my first ride to organize as Regional Directors, and being new we were very apprehensive to say the least. As the date approached and the weather forecast changed from warm and sunny to cooler and rain we got even more apprehensive but the rain held off until late afternoon as predicted and we had a great time.
Penny and I both fielded calls and emails Friday and Saturday morning and ensured everyone that we were still riding.
Although Penny did not ride due to being sick, (I sure missed having her on the trail with me) we had a great turn out and met a lot of new friends. The morning’s ride along the lake was uneventful; except for one frisky pony (there always seems to
be one) everybody had an enjoyable ride. After lunch it was decided to shorten the ride and head back towards camp since the rain was blowing in. With just a light drizzle coming down by the time we got back to the trailers. What a great time.
We had a total of 17 attendees and 16 riders, which was a great turn out, but even more encouraging we had 3 new family memberships, 2 new single memberships and 1 renewal.
Can’t wait for our next ride in May.
