The ride held at Parrie Haynes Ranch in April started with the Board meeting on Friday. The Star Gaits drill team cooked for us and every meal was delicious. A large group rode out Saturday morning guided by Jan Price and Geri Bischoff. There were about 30-35 riders, and a few new to the park. Weather was nice, and the route was diverse. Vernon Leuschner brought the group back after about 3 hours of riding. A much smaller group went out in the afternoon with Sara McMillan leading. The afternoons got pretty warm so some of us wimped out and stayed in camp to visit.
One of the nicest things about these rides is the fact that they are very laid back. Those who want to go in a group can do that, while others who like to go faster or slower tend to go off by themselves. People who know the trails are always happy to show newcomers around the ranch. And the potluck supper on Saturday night always provides a great variety of amazing food. Trail riders sure know how to eat well!
We hope you’ll come to the next ride and enjoy Parrie Haynes Ranch and good fellowship and riding with your fellow TETRA members.
