Caprock Canyon Spring Ride

Quitaque, Texas

May 17 to 19, 2013

Come join TETRA for the spring flowers in the Caprock Canyon State Park. We will ride Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning we will enjoy a short ride. The meals provided will be Saturday evening pot-luck with the meat provided by TETRA.

TETRA has reserved the Wild Horse Campsite so we will have the whole campsite to ourselves. We have paid for the first night at the campsite; reservations can be made by calling Debby Alley at 512-517-9476 and paying $24 to hold a site for the weekend. Please remit a check to  506 Hidden Oak Elgin 78621. There are 12 sites available and park rules state that two vehicles (this means one truck and one trailer) can be parked in the same spot. There is overflow parking available for 10 more rigs. Horse water, pens,  picnic tables and no electricity is at each campsite. Bring your drinking water.  There are no restrooms at this site. Each individual will need to pay $4 park entry fee per day to the ranger at the office upon entry to the park; unless you have a park pass.

Costs: There will be a $20.00 ride fee and a preregistration/payment of $24 for the  camping fee payable to TETRA. The park entrance fee will be payable to the office upon entering the park.  Coggins papers will need to be presented at this time, also.  They will ask for your license number as you register.

State Park Rules: All state parks require Coggins Papers upon entry to the park; these papers need to be inspected by the park ranger upon entry to the park. All animals and livestock must be on a restraining leash. No public display of alcohol is allowed.

Directions: The park is 3.5 miles north of State Highway 86 in Quitaque on FM 1065.
