Region 5 – East Texas

 

November 2 to 4, 2012


Come join us for a fun filled weekend. The Preserve has more than 20 miles of trails for the equestrian and horse drawn wagons to ride. Most of this ride will be in the shade. The terrain is sandy, no shoes, or boots needed. Bring your fishing pole, in your down time the Preserve has three ponds filled with fish.

We will ride out at 9:30 AM Saturday, pack a lunch and we will eat on the trail.  Saturday afternoon around 3:00, we will have a trail obstacle competition. Prizes for 1- 6th place. For those who wish to ride the trails in the afternoon, feel free to do so.   We will have a guided  ride on Sunday morning.

All proceeds to be donated to the Preserve for the equine facilities improvements.

 

Day Riders pay $10.00 donation per rider.

TETRA riders pay $35.00 donation per rider.

NON-TETRA riders pay $40.00 donation per rider.

The ride will provide supper on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday Breakfast.

 

Saturday night meal will be potluck with Tetra providing the meat. Please bring a dish to share.

 

Lunch will be on your own each day.

 

Riding Fee is $5.00 per day per horse (this fee is not included in the donation).

 

RV sites $20.00 per night (RV site has electric, water, and sewer). There are 14 sites available.

 

Pens are $5.00 per night per pen.

No charge for Primitive Camping.

 

The Equestrian Pavilion has restrooms with showers and a wash area for horse.

We will have two separate raffles, one for a $50.00 Gas card, and the other for a Weekend Pass at Mineola Nature Preserve.(This is valued over $90.00, which includes one RV site, 2 pens, and 3 days of riding fees.)

Directions to East Texas:

From I-20, in Lindale, Texas, turn North on U.S. 69, about 14 miles, cross the Sabine River and then continue approximately 1.5 miles, turn right (east) on Loop 564 about one fourth mile, turn right on first road right before County Road 2724. Turn in at the street for the water treatment plant. Parking area for horse trailers is at the top of the hill.

U.S.69 from Greenville/Alba Texas and from

U.S.Hwy37: Continue through Mineola; proceed south until sign for Loop564 is observed. Go underneath the overpass to Loop564. About one fourth mile, turn right on first road before County Road2724. Turn in at the street for the water treatment plant. Parking area for horse trailers is at the top of the hill.

Via

U.S.Hwy80, traveling west from Hawkins, Texas: Go under the overpass for Loop564, immediately turn right (north), and follows signs to Loop 564. Continue right (south) on Loop564. It is the first street past County Road County Road2724. Turn left at the street for the water treatment plant. Parking area for horse trailers is at the top of the hill.

U.S.Hwy80, traveling east from Grand Saline, Texas: Continue through Mineolato the intersection of U.S. Hwy 69. Turn right (south) on U.S. 69. Proceed south until sign for Loop564 is observed. Go underneath the overpass to Loop564. About one fourth mile, turn right on first road before County Road2724. Turn in at the street for the water treatment plant. Parking area for horse trailers is at the top of the hill.
