McCown Valley Workdays

March 24-26, 2023

We will be there starting Thursday March 23 rain or shine.  The ground is sandy, water soaks in fast.  This will be a fun event.  Please join us.  Come when you can, bring your loppers and walking shoes.

Region 8 is planning a work weekend at McCown Valley Corps of Engineers Park.  This is beautiful park is located on Lake Whitney and is TETRA's first project after founding in 1997. This is the beginning of McCown Valley renewal, with a master plan through 2025.

This is a non-horse work event.  Bring your loppers and nippers and best walking shoes.  We will be clearing and cleaning up the trails.  Removing trees off the trails.  Shredding trails up to twelve foot wide, determining where trails are located and mark them with surveyor tape instead of using numbers.

If you have a tractor and shredder or bucket, that would be helpful in removing underbrush, trees and shredding. Bring a chain saw or pole saw for trimming trees.

Army Corps of Engineer staff will be checking all equipment for maintenance and safety.  A Region 8 meeting will be held Friday evening. Army Corps of Engineer staff will be checking all equipment for maintenance and safety.  A Region 8 meeting will be held Friday evening.
