Please join us! This is the back part of the ranch, rarely seen or ridden. Lots of ups and downs, boots or shoes are recommended. Wagons will be welcome.
We will ride the back of the ranch with plenty of hills and valleys. We'll camp at a barn, in the interior of the ranch. Camping is primitive, no water or electric hookups, but generators are allowed. Pens are available upon reservation with Kris - 512/844/1407. This 6,000+ acre ranch is located between Dripping Springs and Wimberly off Ranch Road 12.
Stew Friday evening, pot luck on Saturday evening. Continental Breakfast Sat and Sun morning.
Rules of the trail apply. Riding is group only. This is a working ranch, and all gates are opened and closed by the scouts. We will be riding all day Saturday so pack a lunch. Sunday ride will be half-day.
Saturday ride out time is 9:00 a.m., returning at about 3:00 p.m. Sunday ride out time is 9:00 a.m., returning at 12 noon. The ranch requests that you clean your area and leave by 2:00 p.m.
DIRECTIONS: Travel south from Dripping Springs, 290 on RR 12. Go 5.1 miles to Gatlin Creek Road and turn right. From Wimberley, go 7.1 miles on RR 12 to Gatlin Creek Road and turn left. The turn has wrought iron silhouettes in a yard located on RR12. Follow it to the end for 3.0 miles. Take a left and go straight into the back gate. Follow the dirt road and cross the creek following the pavement towards the right and go up the hill.
