Region 5 –Half Ass Mule Camp Trail Ride
Queen City, Texas September 14-16, 2018
Come join us for a fun filled weekend at the Half Ass Mule Camp, near Texarkana. This private campground, owned by a mother daughter team, abuts the Corp of Engineer surrounding Lake Wright Patman and has access to equestrian trails that range over the 35,000 acres. It is a great place to camp and trail ride, mainly sandy, that can be easy or challenging, flat to hilly, with many streams and log crossings. For those who do not want to ride, fishing, swimming, and shopping is available. Schedule: Friday’s Check In after 4:00pm. Current negative Coggins required. Saturday’s Morning Check In starts at 7:15 am Saturday’s Ride out time is 9:30, lunch on your own back at camp. Afternoon ride starts at 1:00 pm. Sunday’s trail ride will be short and ride out time is 9:15 am. The camp does not have trash service, please bag and pack out all trash. Break camp and depart/gates close at 2:00pm. Ride Fee: Tetra members $25.00/non-members $30 this includes Saturday and Sunday breakfast, and a pot luck, "chili cookoff" Saturday evening (prize awarded for the "best chili"). Day ride fee, $15.00. Children 12 and under are free.

Pens are not reserved, and limited to first arrival basis. No charge for Primitive Camping. The Camp has a covered Pavilion that has a restroom with a shower, and a dump station. Directions: HAMC address is 562 County Road 3559, Queen City, Texas 75572 From Texarkana, Texas: Go South on US Hwy 59 about 15miles. You will see a Church on the right and country road 3660. Turn right on 3660. You will come to a T in the road, Turn left on 3659. Go about a quarter mile and turn right at the next church on 3559, sharp right, follow 3559 around a right angle turn. Soon you will see the fence and gate of Half Ass Mule Camp. Make a right hand turn into the gate. You are there. Check in for parking instructions.
